Rijk’s Private Cellar Chenin Blanc 2013

Cellar Practices

Grapes were gently crushed and pressed. 20% of the wine was cold fermented in tank to retain freshness and fruit, and 80% was fermented in French and Hungarian 300 litre barrels. 30% was fermented with natural yeast. The wine was then aged for 11 months, blended and then bottled.

Tasting Notes

Attractive Concentrated aromas of succulent nectarine, melon and quince on the nose with layers of citrus blossoms and butterscotch on the palate which is rich and creamy. Balanced and comes alive with fresh acidity. Full bodied and has a long finish. Excellent ageing potential and superb versatility with a wide range of dishes completes this delicious wine

Grapes were night harvested, picked by hand to retain flavours. Yield 6.5 tons / ha
